Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration

I absolutely love Thanksgiving.  It's such a wonderful time because you get to hangout with family,  go black Friday shopping, and eat a huge feast!  I mean, what's not to love?  This year my family and I are starting a new tradition.  Since I'm coming home for such a long Christmas break, my mom thought it would be fun to come to me for Thanksgiving.  I live only thirty minutes from the beach so we decided to rent a beach house!  Talk about fun!  I have never spent Thanksgiving while staring at the ocean and I must say I simply cannot wait.

Another thing I love about Thanksgiving is that everyone gets dressed up!  I love any excuse to put together a new outfit.  I especially love that you basically get dressed up to spend all day in the kitchen and then sit down with your family.  It's laughable really, but I enjoy it just as much as the next person.  I wanted to put together an outfit that is dressy but comfy this year and I think I found the perfect items!

You don't need to spend money on a new outfit for a one day event.  Especially since you probably have so many pieces that can be put together from your closet.  That's exactly what I did.  I went for a simple black dress and paired it with a few accessories that really made it stand out!  The first thing is the brown leather items that went with it.  I paired it with a leather jacket and a leather belt to tie around my waist.  The belt helps make the dress look less "puffy."  The jacket was perfect for when I had to step outside, but once I was inside the hot kitchen the dress still looked cute without it.  For jewelry I kept it simple, with a ring or two and a small dainty necklace.  My favorite part of the outfit though were my knee high black boots and the boot socks with my monogram on it.  It's a cute detail like that that really tied the outfit together.

There's endless combinations of outifts that you could put together, I just wanted to keep mine simple, comfortable, and free!  What do you plan on wearing for Thanksgiving this year?  Leave me a comment below!
