birthday wishlist
Besides Christmas, my birthday is my second favorite holiday!  I mean a full day dedicated to me?  What's not to love.  Birthday's are a big deal in my house and we always celebrate with a fun dinner, family time, and of course presents!  So what's on my birthday wishlist?  This was sort of hard to come up with.  You see I'm turning... twenty.. four!  Holy crap, I'm 24 and yet I still have the birthday wishlist of a 12-year-old.  Not that I care, it's my birthday and I'll play with all the toys if I want to!!  That being said, let's get to the fun part.

One.  Toy Story Vans //  Ever since I saw these bad boys I knew that I needed my own pair.  Now just pair these vans with a trip to Orlando for the Toy Story Land and you've got a friend in me indeed!

Two.  The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher //  It's heartbreaking that our Princess Leia is gone.  I would like nothing more but to learn more about her and her time on set.  I swear I will finish this book in less than a day, and I'm totally okay with that.

Three.  Mary-Kate & Ashley Movies //  Don't ask me why, but when I was a teen I sold all of my MK&A books and movies to McKay's but I totally regret it now.  I'm slowly trying to build my collection back up.  I'm missing a few movies though including this one, this one, this one, this one, and this one.

Four.  Donation to WWF //  Not only is this a super cute gift with a certificate and everything, but it's a donation to a good cause.  Plus, it's my favorite charity out there!  Tigers and otters are my favorite animals, btw.

Five.  A Record Player // I've wanted one of these for a while but could never fit it into my budget.  These things are so cute and just a perfect apartment decor piece.  Plus, there are so many great records out there!  I mean I want Fleetwood Mac, Disney, Lana Del Rey, Selena,  Guardians Of The Galaxy, and of course CHRISTMAS records!

Six.  Gift Cards //  I don't get to spoil myself often with iced coffees every mornings since I have to be an adult and pay bills and do adult things.  However, if I get Krispy Kreme or Starbucks gift cards for my birthday that would totally change!

Seven.  Name Necklace //  I know this is totally throwing it back to the 90's but I want a gold or rose gold name necklace.  It literally goes with everything and would easily become a staple piece in my wardrobe.

Let's be honest though, I've got bills to pay, so money is the best gift a gal can get!  There you have it.  My grown up birthday wishlist!  Okay, maybe it's not the most grown up, but it's a wishlist nonetheless.  Cheers to 24!

links i love
Christmas break is slowly coming to an end.  I've got to pack up and head back down south to get back to reality.  Even though it was an amazing vacation and it gave me some time to relax and recollect my thoughts, it's (sadly) time to go back to work.  Christmas wasn't cheap y'all!  I hate leaving my family, it always makes me super sad, but I know that I'll be home in just a few more weeks for my birthday!  However, I am super happy that it snowed before I left because Oliver was able to experience his first snow fall!  I mean, how cute is he?  I figured I should start my year off with another round of Links I Love, so here it goes!

One.  Twist On Mimosas // Mimosas are hands down my favorite drink.  They taste good and it's appropriate to drink them at any time!  I need to try these mimosa ice cubes.

Two.  Workout For Those Who Don't Like To Workout // Raise your hand if you hate to work out!?  Yeah, I'm the same way.  Sometimes I just can't do it.  This article helps those like me to get on the right track.

Three. The Secret To Doing It All // Hannah Bronfman is a great idol.  She's healthy, successful, and down to earth.  I remember listening to her speak at Teen Vogue Fashion University and I fell in love with her and her business.  This was a great article because sometimes when I'm feeling stressed about my life I remember that there are people out there doing way more and that's what I aspire to do one day.

Four.  Earn Extra Money // There are a ton of ways to make some extra cash.  This post though was pretty relatable because it's focused on earning money by doing things you already do!

Five.  Things To Do On A Lazy Sunday //  Lazy Sunday's are my favorite!  You just lounge around and relax.  Need a few ideas on how to unwind?  This is the post for you.

Six.  Apps To Find Friends // If you've recently moved to a new place and want to meet some new people and make some new friends there are ways to do so.  I actually love the idea of connecting with others who share the same interest as you.

Seven.  Oh Joy Kitty Litter // This kitty litter makes me want to get a cat.  Kitty litter is usually gross, but this is so pretty I wouldn't mind a box of it lying around the apartment.  I'm not sure Oliver would like it though...

Eight.  Cactus Galore //  Ever since I was in Arizona, I had this obsession with cactuses.  I want... no wait... NEED these cactus items.  Cactus string lightscactus ice trays, and a cactus neon light.

Nine.  90's School Supplies // School is coming up and that means back to school shopping is fast approaching!  Let's take a stroll down memory lane with the gel pens and the Lisa Frank!

Ten.  Be A Tourist In Your Own Town // Sometimes you need to get outside and explore the wonderfulness of your own city.  Omar and I do this all the time especially since we live in a new state.  This is a great thing to do, where ever you live.

Let me know if you have any cool links for me to check out!!

new years resolutions
Is it just me or is, "this year flew by," the most annoying and over used phrase on New Year's Eve. This year did not go any faster or slower than the year before, but yet here we are thinking that time flew by quicker than the year before.  Two-thousand sixteen has been an okay year for me.  I moved into my own apartment, I adopted a husky pup, and I got a new car.  However, there has been a lot of loss this year too.  It's been a tough year, for a lot of reasons, but loss of loved ones has been the toughest part of it all.  Especially for my Manassas Park family.  Although it's been a rough time, time doesn't stop.  Which means it's time to look forward to the new year and all of the hopes that it may bring.  It's that time of the year again when you make some resolutions for youself for this upcoming year and what you want to accomplish.  I've got big plans for 2017, and I can't wait to share them with you all.

That being said I have come up with a list of New Year's Resolutions that I would like to accomplish in this upcoming year.  Some of them are school related, some of them are health realated, some of them are travel related, but all of them are personal.  That's the important part of resolutions anyways, is to make sure that they're personal to you.  It's important to set realistic but also high goals for youself.  That's what I've done here today and I would love to see what you guys have planned for 2017!

1. Gradute in May
2. Get a big girl job
3. Move (again!)
4. Celebrate Oliver's 1st birthday
5. Take 2 out of state (NC & VA) trips ||
6. Celebrate Omar's birthday (for the first time in 3 years - thanks Obama)
7. Celebrate Omar's & mine 3 year anniversary
8. Relaunch my website
9. Keep a consistent workout and promote a healthy lifestyle
10. Go to New York
11. Go to the West Coast
12. Start to pay off student loans
13. Drink less soda
14. Read 5 new books |
15. Post at least 50 new blog posts |||| |||| |||| |||| ||||| |||

There you have it!  I've got 15 new things to accomplish this year and I'm already getting started on them.  Keep track of how I'm doing throughout the year as I'll be crossing things off my list. Do you have a New Year's Resolution list?  Let me know by commenting below!
