Our $50 Couples Costume
Happy Halloween Loves!  I have never been one to dress up or celebrate Halloween.  It has just never been my thing, but this year everyone is going to be home for this celebration.  My group of friends decided to go all out and do a bar crawl in D.C.  We even rented a party bus!  I was so happy with how everyone dressed up and particiapted in this thrilling day.  The hardest part of it all though- was trying to figure out what to dress up as.  It seemed as though all of my friends had these great ideas, but Omar and I couldn't seem to agree on anything.  While scrolling through Pinterest one day though I got this awesome idea and the fact that Omar was totally on board with it I was pretty happy!

Omar and I LOVE 'How I Met Your Mother' and when I knew right away that I wanted to be Robin Sparkles for Halloween.  How could Omar be my Ted Mosby though?  That's when our friend Nick reminded us of Ted's dorky costume of a Hanging Chad.  I mean, it really couldn't have been better or easier or cheaper, for that matter, to put together.

Let's start with Omar's easy costume.  All he had to do was dress up like Ted usually does.  Khaki's and a blazer and he was pretty much done.  We got a white board ($2) and a thing of rope ($3) and recreated the Hanging Chad costume.

Next was my outfit.  I had gotten most of the staple pieces such at Wal-Mart surprinsingly.  The white t-shirt was $2, the slip on sneakers were $5, the tights were $4, the socks were $2 and the jelly bracelets were $2.  The red headband ($2), wrap peal necklace ($4) and gold hoop earrings ($3) were all from Forever 21.  The jean jacket I found was in the clearance section at Forever 21 for $10!  That was honestly the best part of all of it.  Everything else such as the big red belt were borrowed or I already had it.  The jean skirt was surprinsgly the most expensive ($20) and it was from Forever 21.  I honestly might return it because it's way too short and isn't even that cute, but hey it completed the outfit.

My jacket was a totaly DIY.  Besides buying the jacket itself I also had to get stick on bedazzlers ($6) and iron on transfer paper ($3).  Except the transfer paper didn't work so I ended up having to glue it on, but hey it still worked!
