How I Balance Blogging With A Full-Time Job

I have shared some advice pieces on how I balance it all before, but the truth is, I don't balance it all perfectly all the time. Sometimes blog post get pushed to a later date and other times I'm instagramming on my lunch break. It's just about balancing it all and making time for the task at hand and staying ahead. That's something I learned while doing online classes and it's stuck with me since then.

You can look up a billion different posts about being organized and staying on top of things, but the truth is you need to find what works for you. I find that having to-do list and my agenda keep me on track and remind me of things that need to be done. I also work a lot off of my laptop and cellphone so these two items come with me everywhere. As far as scheduling blog post I tend to write out post and scheduling them in advanced. For instance, it's April 19 when I'm writing this post, but it won't be posted until May. If there's a brand deal I'm working on or a holiday themed post, then I'll schedule it a bit earlier than most.

Then there's photoshoots. Since I don't have one photographer that I pay to do photos, I have to work a bit around my friends' schedules as well. Normally my friends or boyfriend will take my photos and it's more on a weekly basis. I can't schedule things too far in advance because plans are constantly changing. When I do get someone for a weekend I'll make the most out of it and photographer 1-3 outfits. Then, I'll edit them whenever I have free time (like after work or on the weekends) and put them into the blog post that works best with them.

As far as working, I work a full-time job. So from the hours of 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. I'm working at my editorial job. I do get an hour lunch break though and that's when I'll work on an Instagram post or stories. Social media (especially Facebook) I can schedule things ahead of time too if need be. it's really just about finding time to do it all.

Another thing is, blogging is a hobby. Even though it is my side business, I have to have fun with it. If I don't feel like working on it one night than I don't. I can't pressure myself and stress myself out or else it's just not fun anymore. How do you balance it all?
