What I Spend In A Week

I rarely jump on these posting trends, but when a good one is floating around I want to test it out and see how it goes. The only other time I did this was when I did the Ugly Photoshoot Challenge with my friend Danya a couple years ago. There's this new trend going around called "What I Spend in a Week" and I am so here for this trend. Not only does this show you a crazy insight to how everyones spending habits are different, it in a way keeps you accountable for your own spending. I decided to do this week because I knew I had to go to the grocery store so I thought that be a good thing to factor in, but besides that I didn't change anything else about my typical routine. This is a pretty honest what I spend in a week.

What I Spend In A Week

Saturday, November 9
So I was actually in Pennsylvania this weekend with my mom visiting our family. I honestly didn't spend any money, but I did have some bills get paid that day. I paid $184.53 towards my credit card and that's it.

Sunday, November 10
Before we leave Pennsylvania, my mom and I always have to do some shopping. We went to Gabe's and I spent $30.38 and then when I got home, Ana & I went to Saver's because they were having a Veteran's Day 50% off sale and I spent $6.11. My total for that day was $36.49.

Monday, November 11
Since I was out of town that weekend I didn't do any grocery shopping so I actually bought breakfast and lunch that day. I reloaded my Starbucks card with $10 and spent $16.99 on UberEats (use my discount code: michelek761ue). My student loan payments also got taken out that day which were $234.06. My total for that day was $261.05.

Tuesday, November 12
I had two bills to pay that day including my TJ Maxx credit card which was $50 and a couple unexpected bills including the vet (dogs are expensive people) of $51.18 and a doctor bill for $93.23. I went grocery shopping this night too at Trader Joe's and spent $65.22 then got Taco Bell for dinner for $12.82. We also went to TJ Maxx to buy my brother a birthday gift and spent $51.38. My total for this day was $323.83.

Wednesday, November 13
I can't believe I get to say this, but I spent $0.00 this day!

Thursday, November 14
On Thursday, I reloaded my Starbucks card again for $15.00 and filled up my gas tank for $27.38. My total for that day was $42.38.

Friday, November 15
Of course, I had to fit one more bill in there before the week ended. On the 15th of each month my car payment of $175 gets taken out. I know, it's a very low payment, but that's because my mom co-signed my car loan for me so I'm able to have low payments which I'm very appreciative of. Then I got Domino's for dinner and that was $23.31. My total for that day was $198.31.

Saturday, November 16
I decided to add one more day to make this a full-week of spending. I also added this day because I knew I'd be shopping! I did some Christmas shopping this day and then drove down to the lake to celebrate my brother's birthday. To start my morning I had to get an oil change for $45.94. My mom, grandma and I went shopping and I spent $5 at Saver's Thrift Store and $14.07 at Hobby Lobby. My total for that day was $65.01.

Wow! I seriously think everyone should do this just to get somewhat of a perspective on their spending. My grand total spent was $1,111.06. Okay, that sounds like a lot, but let's break it down to bills and necessities vs. non-necessities and splurging. For things such as shopping and eating out I spent a total of $185.06 and for everything else including bills, gas, groceries and "adulting" things I paid a total of $926.54. Honestly, this was an amazing wakeup call. Not that I even spend that much money regardless, it was a very busy week. Watch next week the only thing I buy is gas and groceries 😂. The reason I wanted to do this post is because even though a lot of my favorite influencers are doing this video they weren't including their bills and I found that not relatable. We all pay bills and they're due at different times of the month. I think it's important to highlight that part of our lives as well. I hope you enjoyed this type of content and if you test this out, leave me a comment down below to let me know how it goes.

xoxo, Michele
