Sweater (Similar) | Leggings | Shoes
I told you that I had a ton of thrifted fashion posts coming. Especially now that we are in the fall time because fall clothes are some of my favorite type of clothes to shop for. At my go-to thrift store, SAVER'S, I actually always check the men's sweater section (thanks to Ana for this tip) and I almost always find an item for myself! Sometimes men's clothes–especially going for an oversized look–just fit better and give a comfier look.
I almost never buy anything yellow, but this turtleneck was just so different and unlike anything else I own. It also had tags on it still so being brand new and in the men's section is was definitely a hidden item. The best part is that this piece didn't need nearly as much work as other pieces. I really can wear this piece throughout the colder months with jeans, leggings or even on a weekend lake trip. I also suggest not always buying proper fit turtlenecks for a more casual and loose fit. Obviously it really depends on the look you're trying to obtain, because I have some sleek turtlenecks with muted colors for more professional looks, but this yellow, oversize sweater it gives a total different look.
Since it wasn't an expensive purchase, I'm not afraid to to "live life" in it–if you know what I mean. I didn't mind taking it on the camping trip and getting it dirty or taking ghost photos in this outfit. There's a different feeling when wearing an expensive sweater that you basically refuse to get near people, but an oversize sweater from a thrift store you'll wear out before you know it.
For this "lake house" look I wanted to have a more natural look. I don't dress up or do makeup when I go to the lake so I paired this oversized sweater with a pair of leggings and my white vans. Keep it simple and keep it cozy.
I wanted to start off with an easy styled piece because the new few I have planned require a lot of imagination and creativity. Stay tuned for more thrifted posts and happy fall y'all ✨!
