Review of 2020

I truly can't remember if I did one of these post in 2019, but I know I did in 2018 and even if I missed a year I want to keep the tradition going. I want to share some of met favorite post from each month from the whole previous year. Now 2020 was not that nice to any of us, but I still made sure to document the moments I felt happy, proud and overall just feeling good about myself. I document those moments, those times in life, not just for myself but for my loved ones to look back on, my friends to pull up photos in an instance and for people who are going through the same type go things I'm going through. That's why I blog, because I love it, but because other people out there love it too. So let's take a trip down memory lane, because after a year of blogging, even I forget some of the fun stuff I did!

January

Review of 2020

January was a rough start for me. I was definitely not myself while trying to put up this facade that everything was just dandy, but it wasn't. So I started to take the steps towards bettering myself and I can proudly say that January 2021 is already so much better. During this time though I started to share more about my struggles and why it's okay to well...not be okay all the time. My favorite two post from this month were "Why It's Okay To Take A Break" and "Getting Out of a Low Point."

February

Review of 2020

As things started to turn around, mine and Oliver (my dog)'s birthday was right around the corner. I also love sharing Oliver's birthday each year and little did I know I had a special birthday myself! My boyfriend planned this amazing "Breakfast at Tiffany's" themed surprise birthday party for me. I just felt so loved and cherished that day. I want to hold onto that day forever because it was truly amazing ✨. My favorite post from February were "27 Things I Like About Myself" (one of my most popular posts), "Oliver's 4th Birthday" and "My Surprise Breakfast at Tiffany's Themed Birthday Party."

March

Review of 2020

Just as things were starting to pick up, quarantine hit. I started to get a bit creative with my post because well, we weren't doing anything. That's when I decided to start sharing my monthly interviews from work on my blog so if you want to see my very first interview check out "I Interviewed YouTuber, Kenzie Elizabeth." But without a doubt the best thing to happen in March was that I got my hamster Albus!! My favorite post from that month was "I Got a Hamster! & Other Things I'm Doing During Quarantine."

April

Review of 2020

Just like March, April was pretty bland. I shared a lot of my favorite things during quarantine, but if I'm being honest my favorite post was "Speakeasies Are Just As Cool Today As They Were In The 20's." Why is this my favorite? Because it's a pitch idea I gave when I was interviewing for an editorial position. I always held on to it and decided why not write it myself? So I finally did and I love the way it turned out! It was a creative spark I needed before heading into the summer thinking we would be out of quarantine by then (oh young Michele what I wish I could tell you now šŸ˜‚).

May

Review of 2020

May was a very content-filled month! I started a new series on my blog called "My Quarantine In Snapshots" which are literal snapshots from my day-to-day life. I combined all of my Instagram and Snapchat stories into a video and people loved them! I did about 5 or 6 of them until I decided well this whole "quarantine" thing isn't over so let's do it seasonally. But that was still a great new series I incorporated into the blog. I also did a ton of at-home photo shoots! I shared this post, "Having An At-Home Photo Shoot," which I love the photos I took of my boyfriend (isn't he so handsome)! I was still sharing articles I had written except I was all caught up now so May was a combination of influencers submitting pieces, you can read more here "I Wrote An Article: Staying Connected." I even hosted my very first "Facebook Giveaway!" But my favorite from this month were the TikTok Photo Shoots. I did four of them including, "The Mirror Challenge," "The Post-It Note," "The Fake Tropical Vacation," & "The Newspaper Collage Wall."

June

Review of 2020

As a lot of content creators we weren't posting that much in June. I think just about everyone felt mentally drained from all that happened in June, but maybe drained in a good way. The way where you pushed yourself to learn, to grow, to be a better person. There was a lot of growth that month and I highlighted this in my monthly "June Recap" post.

July

Review of 2020

In July my favorite post hands down was "The Ultimate 90s Sleepover." My girls came over for a fun night down memory lane which included Mary-Kate & Ashley Movies, 2000's Top Hits and Bratz Dolls drinking wine apparently. I also finally shared our "McLean Apartment Tour" as well as an attempted "Quarantine Day In My Life."

August

Review of 2020

Another content-filled month was August! WOW! I have so many saved posts I don't know which one to start with. Okay, yes I do–"Cute Date Ideas: Quarantine Edition." My boyfriend set up an entire date night right in our living room. I swooned! Then I reflected on "One-Year Of My Own Two-Page Spread." Then I worked with my friend and the only guy I trust touching my hair, Jose, to show off my "Hair Transformation with Igna Hair Studios." But without a doubt, my favorite posts from that month is sharing our adventures in Arizona and California. It was too much content for one post so I broke it down into four and you can read them all by clicking the links here; "Part One: Malibu," "Part Two: Temecula," "Part Three: Sedona," "Part Four: The Grand Canyon."

September

Review of 2020

As the fall time started to appear I took advantage of the beautiful weather and did lots of photo shoots! Winter is too cold, summer is too hot, but the fall time is always just right. Some of my favorites from this month—because yes, I had more than one—"Yes, I Still Play Soccer," "20 Mary-Kate & Ashley Outfits That I Would Wear Today," "Making Our Apartment Fun," "Currently Reading: This Is Not A Fashion Story by Danielle Bernstein," and "Weekend Lake Trip With The Cousins." I started a new series on the blog called "How I Style Thrift Finds," and a surprise announcement was that, "I'm Going To Be An Aunt!!" What a fun month!!

October

Review of 2020

Following up September, was October and that is always a busy month for me. Let's dive into some of the highlights from this month, "TikTok Ghost Photo Shoot" this one was awesome because my favorite podcast The Lady Gang highlighted this photo on their stories and on the LG Instagram šŸ˜. "Styling Parachute Pants" this one was way out of my comfort zone but these are still some of my favorite photos. Can't forget my four-page spread and cover with THE PENAVEGAS!! Ah the nicest people ever I swear! I also found an old roll of film and got film from the road trip developed! "I Did An Empty Nesters Photo Shoot For My Parents" this was a fun idea because not only was it just a cute photo shoot for mom and dad, but I incorporated these photos into birthday gifts for my mom! Lastly, "How I Style Thrift Finds: Overalls" my pumpkin patch photo shoot I've always wanted! What a great month, wow!

November

Review of 2020

November was filled with a lot of content creation, except I just don't share that until December. One of my favorites were definitely "Telling My Dog A Story Using His Favorite Words." I have a husky and they're already talkative, now imagine saying the words "ball" and "treat" repeatedly. But without a doubt, surprising my brother & sister-in-law with a FUN SHOWER was definitely the highlight of the month. Click here to read, "We Threw A Fun Shower."

December

Review of 2020

As I said before, there was a lot of content from November that started to go live in December. Let's recap; "How I Style Thrift Finds," "Breakfast Board," "Thanksgiving At The Beach" and "Slip Dress Photo Shoot" were definitely some of my favorites. But the Creme de la Creme of this month was definitely "The Elena Project." I worked so hard on this and had so much fun. Again, totally out off my comfort zone, but that's what I think this year was for. To slow down and take chances on new things.

Thanks for joining in on this trip down memory lane. I need to remember to do it again for 2021 because it's fun to look back on this past year and reflect. Can't wait to see what next years review looks like!

xoxo, Michele
