Some of you may have seen on my Instagram that I got a tattoo. Well I did, but what you saw wasn't what you think. I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a while, but besides my fear of needles, I also wasn't sure if I would like something permanently on my body forever. I have been wanting a tattoo of my dog, but as I said, I wasn't sure, so I found a company called InkBox where you can buy temporary tattoos!

This isn't just any temporary tattoo though, it stays on for up to two-weeks! Which was perfect timing because after the two-weeks was my trip to Texas and I knew I had to decide by then if I was going to go through with it. So here's how it works, how much it costs and all the details.

I had to work with a custom designer because obviously it was a photo of my dog. I sent my vision board (the more detailed the better) and the designer got back to me in 48-hours with three different options. I chose the one I liked the best and we made a couple more small adjustments. The work for all of this cost $20 and they also don't have color so I wasn't able to see what the one blue and one brown eye would look like, but I still got the jist of it.

Once I had the design I then had to pay for the tattoo which was $17 after a discount (click here to get 30% off your first purchase). So overall, 40-ish dollars to see if I really like the tattoo I had in mind. Once I got the tattoo I stuck it to my arm for an hour and then peeled off the plastic. Over the next 24 hours it developed and got darker (turned blue to black).

Then I rocked this temp tat for two weeks! Definitely by the end of week one it started to fade and as the last week went on it would come off kind of in chunks. It didn't peel or anything, it just sort of went away like the ink from a pen on your skin. And by the time my trip rolled around it was completely gone.

I didn't scrub it off, or do anything different in my routine. I still played soccer, showered and went in the pool. This probably made it fade sooner, but I only needed the one to two weeks to see how it looked anyways.

I will say, maybe this is just my skin because my real tattoo did the same thing, but the plastic sticker they put over it, gave me a bad reaction. That would be my only "negative" to this process.
