I took a much-needed but quite a long break from blogging earlier this year. I actually have only blogged about half the year so far, so there are a good six months of updates I’m missing. And since I treat my blog like my online diary—I definitely want to fill it in with what I’ve been up to these past six months.
It’s not that I did anything too crazy, it was mostly spent at home relaxing and hanging out with family. But I did go on some fun trips this summer and overall created memories that will forever be special to me.
Going all the way back to spring of 2022…
I took Oliver to see the Easter Bunny at PetsMart and he loved it—or at least I think he did š. Then we went shopping at Lowe’s and I couldn’t resist but to get some nice photos of him with the pretty flowers haha. He really enjoyed being in a store and smelling everything—I'd definitely want to brush up on his training and take him out like that more often.

My boyfriend ended up going to Spain on a work trip and was gone for two weeks so I took advantage of that time and caught up with some old friends, went on some long walks with Oliver, and hung out with family. Be sure to follow his Coaching Instagram account @CoachOmarContreras š„°.

My cousin got married this summer! I loved being able to celebrate the happy couple and see my family again. Before we headed towards the wedding, my boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday in his favorite city: Philadelphia. We went to the Harry Potter Exhibit and rented a boujee hotel room for the night. It was such a fun trip and I’m glad we were able to celebrate birthdays and weddings all in one weekend š„°.

A lot of my downtime though has been spent with my boyfriend who has made this past year so much better for me. I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety and stress this past year and a half and I’m so grateful to have him. He’s the perfect balance in my life when I start to get too worked up and he always knows how to help when my mental health is struggling. I’m very appreciative of him, especially during times like these.

Speaking of hard times, my sweet, sweet pet hamster Albus passed away recently. He was the best little Pikachu and I wish he was moving with us, but I’ll always cherish and miss him ❤️.
To end it all, a little life update. I no longer work at The War Cry and have been working a fully remote position for the past couple of months. It’s not as “creative” as my last job, but a lot of the same editing and administrative work. It pays more, has better benefits, and did I mention it’s fully remote!? Which leads me to my next point…my boyfriend and I are in the process of purchasing our first home! It’s very exciting and I can’t wait to share more details with you all soon š„°.

I feel like I just did a “previously on” update for you all hah—but even though my life has not been thrilling or exciting the past few months, I’ve re-learned the art of staying still. Focusing on my mental health and not trying to do too much. The reason for that is because I have some exciting updates I’ll be sharing with you and my life is going to be insanely busy in the near future. I’m excited for it, but also nervous. I just want to remember these moments that I had during the hard times of struggling with my mental health, cause that’s what it’s all about in the end.
