Fall Skin Routine With Rodan + Fields

It is so important that you keep changing up your skin routine as the seasons change.  If you find something that works for you 100% then stick with it, but if you have skin that changes with the weather then you need to shake things up a bit.  Depending on your skin type, sometimes your skin gets use to the products that you consistently use.  So how do you change it up?  It can be as simple as trying out new products or doing research on highly recommended products for different skin types (oily, dry, etc.).  Or maybe you're home one weekend and use whatever face wash is in the shower, because that's exactly what happened to me.  I went home one weekend and grabbed this face wash that my mom had lying around.  It wasn't until later that day I realized how clean my face felt.  Okay, obviously that sounds odd because I just showered, why wouldn't my face feel clean?  It was a more intense clean though.  My face didn't feel super dry or needing of lotion, which I usually put on right away after a shower.  I simply loved the way my face felt and I used the product all weekend long. My mom told me all about the new skin care line she started using called Rodan & Fields.  I was obsessed with it.  So obsessed that my mom bought me my own set for Christmas last year and let me tell you, the game has changed forever.

I use the UNBLEMISH Regimen which is geared more towards acne.  I've battled with acne all of my life and as I've gotten older, it's gotten better.  However, I still have a few flares ups now and then, and it's even worse if I don't take care of it.  This line comes with four products; the face wash, toner, lotion, and an acne treatment.  I love this line and it has definitely helped me out so much.  They also have a ton of other products such as facials and medicine that give that extra hand when trying to battle bad skin.  Another one of my favorite products is the Micro-Dermabrasion paste.  This product is a JAW-DROPPER!  It's a great product to use when you are just feeling a little gross and need to scrub away the excess oils and dirt.  I love to use this product on Friday after a long work week and I always feel super refreshed.  I have been on a big at home facial kick lately and I'm pretty happy with the results.  I usually only did a facial now and then, but I've started to do them every other day now.  It's just a great thing to do while doing dishes or blogging, because it doesn't take long and I love the way my skin feels afterwards.  I wear makeup to work and I work from 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. everyday.  Then I sit in traffic an hour to work and an hour back, so yeah, my skin feels pretty gross after a long workday.  One of my other favorite products is the Night Renewing Serum.  It's so perfect for clarifying and renewing your skin.  Like I said, after a long day I just want to deep clean my face and get all of the grossness away.
One of my friends from high school is a consultant for Rodan & Fields and that makes my life so much easier, because I know I can get a refill on my products so much easier.  I'm collaborating with Laci Griffith, a Rodan & Fields Consultant on this blog post to tell you all about Rodan & Fields and why you should definitely try them out this fall.
What makes Rodan & Fields different from other facial products?
Rodan & Fields was founded by two dermatologists; Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields.  They are actually the same doctors that created Proactive.  Rodan & Fields is the number 1 premium skincare brand in the U.S., backed my clinical results.  We don't really have a one products for all kind like some other companies, but rather we have multiple products for multiple skin types, because every skin type is unique.  Customers recommend products based on their individual wants/needs and concerns.  That's what makes us so different, is that we really listen to our customers and we are constantly trying to improve our products.
How often should someone use the products?
It honestly depends on the product.  Regimens should be used twice daily; morning and night.  Other products might be used daily or a few times a week like the Micro-Dermabrasion paste.
When can people expect to see results?
The company backs products for 60 days.  Everyone is different, but you should start seeing some results by that point.  Consistency is key for great results though!
What kind of skin types (oily, acne, dry, etc.) does this line work on?
We have products for all skin types!  We actually just launched an Active Hydrating Serum that is perfect for those who have both oily and dry skin.  It is an enhancement product to be used along with a regimen.  It gives you hydration where needed without causing the oily areas to break out.
What is the difference between each line (Unblemish, Redefine, etc.)?
Reverse is for uneven skin tone, discoloration or sun damage (perfect for sun lovers)!
Unblemish is for acne breakouts and Soothe is for sensitive skin or redness.
Redefine is for anti-aging (suggested for those that don't have any other major concerns such as acne or redness).
All regimens come with a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.  Some have other products (like Reverse) to lighten or brighten skin tone.  There are some cases where you might mix and match products from one line with another to achieve the results you want based on your concerns.
What are the main ingredients used in Rodan & Fields?
Each regimen is different so the ingredients are all very different.  Most of our products do contain mineral and peptide based ingredients.
Is there a money back guarantee policy?
ABSOLUTELY!  The company offers a 60-day empty bottle money back guarantee.
What other products does this line carry?
We offer so many different products!  Some of my favorites are the Multi-function eye cream, which is one of our best sellers!  It reduces the appearances of dark circles and fine lines (a total win for the moms)!  The Lash Boost is super popular, say bye-bye to lash extensions!  It's a biotin, keratin and peptide serum that you apply once a day.  You swipe it above your upper lashes like a liquid eye liner (it's a clear liquid) or on your brows to give you longer, fuller, and darker lashes!  There's also the new Active Hydrating Serum that I mentioned before.
Are these products sold in stores?
Nope!  They were originally sold in high-end departments stores back in 2002 and did very well.  However, the doctors realized people weren't casually walking through Nordstrom and purchasing a regimen.  They also saw the rise in online shopping and that is when they pulled it from the shelves and used direct sales to sell their products through social media and word of the mouth.  They have now become the #1 premium skincare brand in the U.S. even ahead of brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder.  We also don't advertise!  We rely on word of the mouth and our loving clients!

Viva Las Vegas
I know this post is way overdue, but I guess it's better late than never!  If you're following me on social media, which you should be, saw that I planned a trip to Las Vegas for Omar and I back in June.  We had a lot to celebrate, but it was mostly for Omar's birthday AND our 3 year anniversary.  Since Omar and I have never been able to celebrate our anniversary OR this birthday I wanted to do something extra special this year.

Vegas was perfect, because it's somewhere Omar had never been too and because I have family there.  My cousin Sam and his girlfriend Yamili just moved to Nevada and I have been missing them so much.  Since I lived with them a few years ago when I was interning in Arizona, I had felt right at home when I arrived.  Seriously, can't say this enough, but a HUGE thank you to Sam and Yamili.  This trip wouldn't have been possible without you too and I miss you guys already!

We did all of the normal things you're supposed to do in Vegas; gamble, drink, and eat good food.  There were some things we had on our to-do list and some stuff that was random, but we are so glad that we did.  We really did cram a lot into a 5 day trip.

Of course we had to go visit the famous "Welcome to Last Vegas" sign.  There was a really long line and instead of waiting we just went off to the side and waited for the right moment to get our picture taken (just an fyi incase you plan on visiting).  We also went to the Pawn Stars shop.  The "famous" employees weren't there that day, but that was totally fine.  It was cool just to be there.  They had so many items it took a while to look through it all.  I really liked the old school cartoon items while Omar drifted to the guns and knives section- surprise, surprise.  I think one of my favorite things was Fremont Street though.  The gambling and drinks were cheaper there than on the strip.  It was also so bright and colorful.  It was as if we were in a different world.  There were performers and concerts happening, it was impossible not be entertained.  My cousin also took us to a lion rehabilitation center which of course I loved!  It was awesome to see all of the lions in a semi-natural habitat.  We also saw a giraffe who knows how to paint!  It was extremely cute and if I had the money I totally would have bought a painting from him.  Now, the main part of Vegas is on the strip and it's broken into different famous cities.  In New York, New York there is a roller coaster that is literally on the side of the building and it was a blast!  I was crying of laughter and Omar was crying because he was intoxicated.  Omar and I went to Coca-Cola world and he got us samples of different Coke products.  After we got hopped up on sugar we did some serious shopping!  The mall was unlike anything I have ever seen before.  The inside was transformed into this older city and it even had this changing ceiling where it looked like nighttime.  They kept it this way so that you wouldn't know what time it was outside, because inside there were a ton of casinos and bars.  Omar even got his first Aqua Massage (see picture down below) and it looked so ridiculous, but he said it was totally worth the money.

On our last day we spent a majority of our time at the Golden Nugget pool- which we got into for free somehow (thanks random lifeguard for hooking it up).  In the middle of the pool is a shark aquarium and the pool slide goes through the aquarium.  So you're going down a water slide and you look to the side and there's a shark staring at you.  The weather was so beautiful and it was truly an incredible experience.  After the pool we hit the casino.  Surprisingly, we broke even throughout the whole trip.  Omar more than me, but that's because we found out that he's really good at Roulette.  We were playing roulette and he told me to pick a number.  I randomly picked number 34.  Now, if you put a chip on a single number your odds of winning are very low, but if you do win you get a pretty high payout.  You'll never believe it, but it landed on 34!!!  That was the perfect ending to the perfect trip.

End Of Summer Playlist
Does anyone else have a certain type of music that they listen to as the season changes?  It's almost impossible for me to listen to country during the winter and holiday music in the summer.  Right now, I'm listening to music that seems to be right in the middle of a summer night out and 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' soundtrack.  Or maybe I'm just super weird.  Who knows.  Anyways, here's my end of the summer playlist brought to you by Spotify.

Any other song recommendations?
