Wacom Tablet Review

wacom tablet review for graphic designers
At my internship last summer all of the girls had this thing called a Wacom Tablet and it seriously looked like the coolest gadget in the world.  So of course I had to put it on my Christmas list to Santa.   This tablet makes drawing on pen and paper come to life on screen.  I'm obsessed with advanced technologies like this.  Seriously, I want Iron Man's computer system.  I love when you can really put a hands on experience on the screen in front of you.

Now, the Wacom Tablet, for me personally, was a little weird to use at first.  It's definitely something that you have to get used to.  The more I played with it though, the easier it became to use.  What I really love about this gadget is that I can focus on particular parts of the picture that I'm editing that sometimes I feel using my cursor just doesn't.  If I'm editing a picture in Lightroom the tablet + pen duo can pin point an exact location that I want to edit.  If there's a section of the photograph that I want to leave alone, I can select that also and make sure it doesn't get touched, all by using the tablet.  Plus, let's not forget that on Photoshop if I want my handwriting on something, I literally just write on the tablet and it appears on the screen- too cool!

What I really love about it is that with the pen you can easily switch between pencils and photo editing tools.  You have complete control over the canvas.  Even though I only plan on using my tablet when editing pictures and for some fun on Photoshop, but I do hope that as my graphic design skills keep developing so will how I use this tablet.

I know I still have a lot to learn with this tool, but I can't wait to do just that!
Do you have a Wacom Tablet?  If so, what do you use yours for?
