Fifteen Days In California: Part 3

I had to create a whole new part 3 just to go over Disney. As some of you may know, one of my bucket list items it to visit every Disney park in the world. Since I was in California, I figured we should cross Disneyland off of our bucket list. As I mentioned in part 2 of this series, major spoilers ahead, Disney World in Orlando, FL is much better than Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, but both parks have their perks. Disneyland offers you to get multiple fast passes throughout your day where is Disney World only lets you have 3. Disneyland also has Pixar Pier which has the Incredibles Roller Coaster which was so fun that w rid it 5 times!! Hopefully this post is helpful if any of you are planning a trip to Disneyland anytime soon.

Monday: Disneyland
Let's just jump right into what everyone wants to know about: Star Wars Galaxy Edge. We went at the perfect time because that "4-hour" pass phase was over so you could spend as long as you'd like in Batu. Disney never skimps on bringing your favorite movies to life and Batu was no exception. The minute you turn the corner it's as if you left the park. I swear it got like thirty degrees hotter and you could hear these weird bird noises. Then you see the entrance and it's straight out of the movie. I'm not good at naming every feature, but the stores, the restaurants and the design was just spectacular. You walk through the village of Batu and I mean.. I felt like a poor Jedi in hiding. When you keep walking there's the iconic Millennium Falcon. Looks just as cool in real life as it does in the movies. Sadly though, the ride... not that great. It's one of those things that you have to do so you wait in line for thirty-minutes to do so, but I went to the one in Orlando we won't waste our time with it. So basically 6 people go on the ride, 2 are pilots, 2 are shooters and 2 are engineers. The shooters and engineers basically click a bunch on buttons and the pilots drive. I don't know it just wasn't fun. Plus, if you're not good with those video game type of rides and they make you sick then it's really not fun. However, we're glad we did it, you get to walk through the Millennium Falcon which was cool. The next big part of this area is the Droid Depot and the Savi's Workshop (Build Your Own Light Saber). We saw a lot of people walking around with their Light Sabers and they were cool! Glass encased and different colors, but they're expensive! Not that my droid was any cheaper.. I chose to go to the Droid Depot and build my own R2D2 (duh)! So basically you choose if you want a R2 or BB8 and then you go to the conveyer belt and start selecting your pieces in any color you want. They have blue, black, white, etc. You can mix and match too. Then you go to the assembly line and you are responsible for building it on your own which was cool and then you get to activate it and you see your droid come to life. Now, my R2 is remote controlled, yes, but he also reacted to other things throughout the whole park. This was worth every penny to be walking by Kylo Ren and my R2 start to spin his head and go crazy. When we went on rides, walked through the park and anytime he saw another droid he would react and it was honestly so cute I could die. Best $99 I ever spent. Oh yeah, and the blue and green milk... it wasn't bad. My cousin liked it more than I do, but still it's about the experience and now we can say we drank blue milk in Batu. That's the biggest review of all of Disneyland, Star Wars Galaxy Edge was awesome. My next favorite part of Disneyland was Toon Town. Ugh, my childhood hard couldn't handle this. Everything literally looked like a cartoon! You got to walk in and out of Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie and everyone else's homes. Too Cute. I also loved the Roger Rabbit ride, not that it was a thrilling ride but the details of one of my favorite childhood memories being brought to life was really cool. The last cool feature of Disneyland that sticks out in my memory was It's A Small World. The reason this was cool was because throughout the different countries were Disney characters! Is this in the Orlando one too, because if so I never noticed it!? As we started our boat ride cousin and I quickly noticed that there were Iconic Disney characters throughout the ride in their respective countries. Mulan was in China, Aladdin was in India, Lilo & Stitch were in Hawaii (USA) and so many more. Loved that! Aside from all of that, a lot of the rides were similar to Disney World, but still an overall really fun day.

Tuesday: Disney California Adventure Park
This park definitely takes the cake when comparing the two. Unlike Orlando, California only has two parks and DCAK is the best out of the two hands down. The rides were simply better. Pixar Pier was a lot of fun and super picture worthy too. I could seriously be a Disney blogger if I lived close enough to one. The Incredicoaster was the best ride. We someone managed to get like 5 or 6 fast passes to this roller coaster and each time was better than the last. The food was also better here. I'm a vegetarian so it's hard for me to find food in the parks, but one of their dinning areas offered cheese ravioli and I ate so many churros that day it was worth every calorie. Another thing that was different on the west coast is that they altered the iconic rides to go with a modern day film. For instance, in Orlando The Hollywood Tower of Terror is from the movie The Twilight Zone, but in Anaheim it is Guardians of the Galaxy. Same ride, different theme. Nonetheless, another one of our favorite rides. This was one of our favorite days and we stayed until the park closed.

Wednesday: Pool Day & Travel Day
Not the most exciting day, but one of the best. I just hung out by my cousin's really cool roof top pool again all day. I took some pictures, got a last minute tan and did a last minute ice cream run to Cauldron Ice Cream before heading off to LAX for our flight home. I do have to give a HUGE shout out to my cousin Michael. He was so awesome for letting us stay with him, showing us around and everything else in between. It was so, so, so much fun being with my cousin and getting to be adults together. Does that sound odd? But you know having a relationship with your cousins when you're an adult is so different from when you're kids. You learn so much more about one another and can talk about real life stuff. That was my absolute favorite part of the trip was hanging out with Michael (and his kickass apartment)! If you're reading this, thank you for everything Michael, we love you!!!!

This was such an amazing trip! I really needed a vacation like this and even though it was really hard to come back to work after two-weeks of sunny California, it was well worth it. I hope you enjoyed these blog posts and if you have any questions about the places I visited, let me know by commenting down below!
