Tips For Planning Your Next Road Trip

Look, I am not one to advocate for a road trip. I get car sick easily, uncomfortable no matter where I'm sitting and it just always takes so long. However, if you can plan ahead for a road trip (no matter how long) and you have some good company, I think road trips can be really fun. Since our plans for California got a little rearranged, my cousin and I decided to hit as many places as we can in just a weeks time, but that meant renting a car and doing a mini road trip from California to Arizona. Stay tuned for those blog post and in the mean time enjoy my tips and tricks for when planning your next road trip.

1. Plan Your Route Ahead of Time–This one may seem obvious, but if you know where you're going on what days and when you're stopping before breaks, it helps paint a clear picture in your mind and will stop people from asking, "Are we there yet?"

2. Make a Playlist & Download Podcasts–Especially if you're going on a trip with multiple people, the driver does get primary radio access, but everyone else should bring headphones just incase.

3. Bring Snacks & Drinks–This one is obvious!

4. Get Comfy–Maybe don't rent a sports car or fiat if you know you'll want some leg room. Bigger cars tend to give you more room to lounge out. And make sure you wear some comfy clothes!

5. Plan Your Stops–This goes with #1, but if you know when you're stopping it will stop people from asking to pull over every few miles.

6. Pack The Car The Night Before–Besides maybe food and electronics, everything else can get packed. It's the worse when you're doing that the morning of then you forget something or can't find something you left in the trunk. Just do it the night before so the next morning you're stress free.

7. Charge Your Tech–Nothing worse then when you're AirPods die and you hate the driver's taste in music.

8. Have A Game Plan: Who is driving? Who is paying for gas?–All of these are important questions to ask and shows your personality if you offer to help out. Whether you're miserable or excited to be is the car for hours, this is a group effort, make sure you'r doing your part.
