A Weekend In New York

Last weekend my boyfriend and I went to my favorite place ever for just 48-hours. He's in the middle of getting his soccer coaching licenses and his first two classes were in Brooklyn and then in Utica. I take any chance I can to visit the city and anytime we do go we experience new things. So here's what we did for 48-hours in New York.

As I said, the first day we stayed in Brooklyn and Friday night we headed to the city for dinner at Boqueria. This place had happy hour tapas and cocktails and it was so good. It was the perfect amount of food and since we were by Time Square we walked around just taking some photos and shopping. We also stopped at the Pelé Soccer Shop, it was freaking awesome! We wanted to buy one of everything. Where was this store when I was in high school? Then we headed to Carlo's Bakery to get some dessert. I got the regular cheesecake and my boyfriend got the cookies & cream cheesecake 😍. So good!

On Saturday after we checked out of the hotel we decided to head to Little Italy for brunch and some shopping. We parked our car in this super cool parking garage where you park your car in a specific spot and then you tell the kiosk your ready to park your car and it's a machine that takes it, not a person. So advanced and very, very cool. Then we had brunch at Fiat Cafe–highly recommend–the food was so good and again it was just the "perfect amount" of food. We decided to walk around Little Italy and saw a Sour Patch Kids store that we just had to stop in. Then we ended up walking to NYU and checking out the bookstore and the area. After that we got dessert in Chinatown at a place called Spot Dessert Bar, I got the campsite cookie and my boyfriend got the lava matcha cake. We seriously ate so good this weekend, but it didn't end there. After getting our car back my boyfriend really wanted pizza, but not just any pizza, a Bar Stool recommended pizza. So we got John's of Bleecker Street Pizza and then headed to the next location: Utica.

This seems random, and it was, but my boyfriends soccer courses was up there so we drove four hours into the snowy mountains. It was kind of scary driving at night because we couldn't see anything. But when we woke up it was beautiful out! It was snowing and the mountains just looked gorgeous. If you're an Office fan then you know Utica, Syracuse, Binghamton and of course Scranton are all right next to each other so it was really fun to be there and see what it's like. While my boyfriend was at his class, I decided to get Starbucks and go thrifting. It was a fun morning, but the thrift store gets a 2/10 for me. After that we had a six hour drive back home.

I love a good weekend in my favorite place and exploring new parts of the state. I'm already looking forward to the next trip 😜.
